In November 2011, Toddler Veg at the age of 18 months old was diagnosed with a life threatening allergy to peanuts and tree nuts as well as gluten, soy and dairy. I plan to use this as a diary of events…the highs and the lows. I hope that as you read this you will chime in with any opinions, ideas, concerns or encouragement! Our journey begins now….
Right after we had the allergy DX I was lost as what flour to use. We had been focusing on being gluten free but using a flour that was produced in a facility that also produces tree nuts. So due to the nuts, that was out (and it really didn’t taste great). So I was really down and at quite a loss. My friend passed me the Betterbatter.org site. I checked it out and later that week headed to the store. While at the store I read the packaging, but wanted to call to talk to the company regarding confirmation of the ingredients and cross contamination. After the phone conversation, I felt so comfortable. I talked with Theresa and she spent so much time with me. She answered all questions I had and gave me more information than I knew I needed She was great! Better Batter has truly changed our lives. I feel like its given this Allergy Mamma her freedom back to bake and make what I desire! My family is certainly happy as well During the Gluten Free Allergen Free Expo in Chicago, I had the GREAT pleasure of meeting the pretty little lady behind Better Batter ( as well as her cute parents). Below are pictures of Naomi and myself! The first was of us meeting, then of course posed! My own mamma was behind the camera, sharing in my joy of meeting her. I love the Better Batter story, the company and the products! It truly has changed our lives!
